UniMAC Holds Successful Matriculation for New Students


 Accra, February 14, 2025 – The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) held its annual matriculation ceremony on February 14, 2025, at its main campus in Dzorwulu,Accra. The event marked the official induction of 2,177 new students into the academic community, a diverse group consisting of students from various disciplines and backgrounds.


The ceremony, held in the presence of faculty, staff, and parents, was a significant milestone for the university and its incoming students. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eric Opoku Mensah, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and integrity. He urged the new students to uphold the values of the university and to commit themselves to the pursuit of knowledge.


"We are proud to welcome each of you to this esteemed institution," Professor Opoku Mensah stated in his speech. "As you embark on this academic journey, remember that success is not only about earning a degree but also about developing as individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society."


The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, which aim to enhance the learning experience and provide students with the tools they need to succeed. He encouraged the freshers to take full advantage of the university’s resources, including the new digital learning platforms and e-library, designed to support their studies and facilitate greater academic engagement.


In addition to the Vice-Chancellor's address, the ceremony featured a special oath of allegiance, where students vowed to adhere to the university's rules and strive for academic excellence throughout their studies.


The ceremony concluded with a celebratory procession and the students officially becoming members of the university community. Parents and well-wishers shared in the joy and excitement, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the students.


This year’s matriculation ceremony not only reflects the university’s commitment to providing quality education but also underscores its ongoing growth and investment in creating a nurturing environment for future leaders.
